About Dr. Akerke Baibergenova

Dr. A. Baibergenova is a Board-Certified Dermatologist (University of Toronto) and the Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology. She also has Master’s degree in Public Health (Albany University’s School of Public Health, NY, USA) and PhD in Clinical Epidemiology (McMaster University, Hamilton).

Dr. A. Baibergenova has extensive training in medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. In addition to her clinical work she made substantial research contribution particularly in medical dermatology and dermatoepidemiology. During her Dermatology residency training she received the prestigious Everett C. Fox award by the American Academy of Dermatology and several awards by the Canadian Society for Investigative Dermatology for her research projects. Her original research manuscripts has been published in peer-reviewed dermatology journals and presented at national and international meetings.

Dr. Baibergenova’s professional affiliations include the Canadian Dermatology Association, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and the Society for Investigative Dermatology. She is fluent in English and Russian languages.

Dr. Peter Bray

About Dr. Peter Bray

Dr. Bray received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Toronto in 1994. He subsequently attained his Master’s degree in the Surgical Scientist Program and underwent plastic surgery training. In 2001, Dr. Bray became a board-certified member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada. An active member of the surgical staff at the Toronto Western Hospital and an assistant professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto, Dr. Bray plays a significant role in the training and development of medical students, residents and future plastic surgeons.

Boasting extensive experience in computers, information technology, clinical photography and digital imaging, Dr. Bray applies this knowledge to his interest in Medical Informatics. In collaboration with the Department of Computer Science at the University of Waterloo, Dr. Bray has received numerous grants for his work on developing information technology tools designed to enhance patient education. His presentations on the subject have received both national and international acclaim.

Dr. Shima Kassirian

About Dr. Shima Kassirian

Dr. Shima Kassirian obtained her undergraduate Honours degree from the University of Toronto in Toxicology followed by a Master of Science degree in Pharmacology. She then completed her medical degree at the University of Toronto. This was followed by a residency in General Surgery also at the University of Toronto. She became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2007. She is also a fellow of the American college of Surgeons. After completing her training in General Surgery she went on to work as a surgeon at North York General hospital. Her clinical interests are devoted to acute care and Minimally Invasive surgery. She also has a special interest in surgical treatment of dermatological lesions. In addition she has extensive academic experience with surgical education and Medical student teaching.

About Dr. Catherine O’Blenes

Dr O’Blenes graduated from Medical school at the University of Toronto, and completed her residency training in Dermatology, receiving her fellowship certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Dermatology in 2013.  She has worked for 2 years as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Dermatology, Dalhousie University as well as in private practice, and has now returned to practice in Ontario.

About Dr. Seema Rathee

Dr. Seema Rathee graduated from Dalhousie Medical School in Nova Scotia in 1990. She completed her internship training at the University of Toronto and was awarded a fellowship in family medicine by the College of Family Physicians in 2008 for her dedication to continuing education. Although trained as a family physician, Dr. Rathee worked in the field of dermatology in tandem with a successful family practice for the first 15 years of her career. As her passion for medical and cosmetic dermatology grew, she decided to leave family practice in 2006 to focus her entire energy toward skin and skin diseases. She received a Diploma in Practical Dermatology with distinction from Cardiff University in Wales in 2014 and has worked as a tutor in the program since graduating. Dr Rathee is a member of the Primary Care Dermatology Society of Canada and the Canadian Association of Aesthetics Medicine.

Dr. Rathee joined Oak Ridges Dermatology Centre in February 2016. She is trained in both Botox and Hyaluronic Acid Fillers and strives to create a youthful but natural look for her patients using these non-invasive techniques. Her compassionate and caring nature, along with her dedication to continuing education gives her patients both comfort in her approach and confidence in her expertise.
